Snow Camp Charity
Since 2003, Snow Camp have been harnessing the power of skiing & snowboarding to break down barriers, broaden horizons and address the biggest social issues facing underserved young people today.
​
Their​ mission is to turn young lives around through the power of snow sports combined with engaging opportunities, positive relationships and life-changing progression.
​
They work with local youth projects to deliver an accredited journey of snow sports courses to young people at several locations across the UK. Their courses taking young people from beginner to qualified snow sports instructors in one year, with volunteering and apprenticeship progression routes available at the end. Alongside learning to ski or snowboard, they also have access to life skills training and mental health support.
​
Once a young person gains their instructor qualification with Snow Camp, they return the following year as volunteers and apprentices, teaching the next cohort of young people joining the charity. Snow Camp is a community and young people stay involved with them for many years.

Why Girl Powder is supporting Snowcamp?
Girl Powder is all about empowering women to make time for themselves, improve their skills and be part of a group that is positive, supportive and nurturing.
​
As someone who feel incredibly lucky to have access to the mountains and snow sports over many years, I love the idea of giving those for whom that would be a near impossibility the chance to experience the unadulterated joy and wonder of the mountains.
​
Even more than this though, is the chance for young people who might not feel like they have many opportunities to realise what is possible, what is out there for them. That is a gift that I feel passionately about and is fundamentally why I believe in Snowcamp.
​
Our first fundraising event is on 22nd January at Archer Street, London featuring fabulous shopping opportunities, brilliant entertainment provided by Archer Street singers, a wonderful alpine-inspired buffet and just an acres-ski feeling on a cold, January night in London!
